The party's over, the reality check - India and Mr.Obama

As America gets a new leader, the stage is all set for meeting the many unanswered questions, challenges, and doubts head on. India too is looking nervously at the United States. :-(

Due to the US Economic meltdown, how big can be the impact on business outsourcing? Wonder where does India stand and what would be the priorities India hold for the new President? The road ahead for the Indo-US economic relationship, the nuclear deal and its benefits and most importantly, the recession worries.

Saw a show on TV, Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, speaking about Obama, who has been one of the strongest supporters, said that some policies advocated by newly elected President are far too protectionist. He said, specifically two of his policies needs reviewed viz, Outsourcing and Pakistan.

He said that Obama needs to maintain a balance in his policies regarding trade, jobs being exported etc. That's not been good general policy. And ofcourse there should be some toughness regarding militancy in Pakistan and we know civil society groups are much secular in Pakistan who would rather be on his side than turn against him.

So, guys let's wait and watch as party's over what will happen in favour of India.

Cheerzzz,
Amitha.
